The Election Commission of the State of Assam is basically a stable department. Under the election commission of the state, all the urban local Panchayats election conduction, direction, and their preparation and control shall be carried out for which an election commissioner for the state will be appointed by the order of the Governor. For the various functions to perform under the Act 1994 of the Panchayat of Assam and under 114 provisions for Election Commission of the State Panchayat, different staff is appointed by the government.
Officers and employees duties and power.
(a) Secretary: Government has appointed the Secretary of Election Commission of the Assam state. He has the authority of administrative department and also performed as in charge of whole disbursing officer department and drawing department.
(b) Under Secretary: In order to make the Secretary assistance, an Under Secretary is appointment for the performance of elections and various work related to administration by the government.
(c) Finance & Accounts Officer: In order to perform the advice related to the matters of finance, government has manned this post.
(d) Superintendent: For the purpose of the department supervision, government has manned this post.
(e) Accountant cum Cashier: In order to make the dealing related to cash, sanction of matter, Election Commission of the Assam State itself filled this post.
(f) UDA, LDA, and Typist: For the department related to jobs at administrative level and election conduction, government has manned this post.
